Printmaking Workshop & Visit to Mercer Gallery, Harrogate.
Wednesday 2nd August
10.00am – 4.00pm
AGES 10 – 15 YRS
Our fun and enriching day program designed to educate, inspire and entertain!
This is an exciting opportunity to explore the dry point etching technique! Students are able to experiment with different tools to scratch the surface of their printing plate to create an image they are happy with. Students will be guided through the inking up and wiping process and discover the unexpected delights of their design once passed through the etching press. They will enjoy printing with different coloured inks on a number of papers to proudly bring home and frame!
In the afternoon we will view the Harrogate Open ’17, an exhibition and competition of fabulous local artist’s work, providing the perfect opportunity for students to learn ways of looking at art within a gallery environment, provoking curiosity in inquiring minds. Active student participation will be encouraged to help them better understand the art and share their thoughts and feelings about it.
